VAIBS Image Analytics: the smart filter for the control room
Control rooms and alarm centers process large volumes of alerts every day. A significant portion of these turn out not to be real threats in practice. Think of moving branches, shadows, weather conditions, or headlights triggering unnecessary alarms. This creates noise, distraction, and unnecessary follow-up actions. With the development of Image Analytics, VAIBS now offers a solution that can reduce unwanted alerts by up to 99.9% per camera.
A smart filter before the control room
VAIBS Image Analytics is built on Vision AI technology and acts as a smart filter between the camera system and the operator. Based on incoming alerts, it collects short video clips or snapshots and determines whether a person, vehicle, or other relevant object is actually visible within a defined detection zone.
Only when an alert is deemed relevant is it forwarded to the control room. Events that do not represent a real threat—but are still triggered by existing detection systems (such as moving branches)—are filtered out at an early stage. This results in a clean and manageable flow of alerts for the control room operator.
No continuous video stream = low hardware requirements
What makes VAIBS Image Analytics particularly interesting is that it does not require a continuous video stream to operate effectively. Instead of processing live video 24/7, it only analyzes alerts at the moment they are generated.
This makes deployment highly accessible. Infrastructure load remains limited, implementation is straightforward, and even locations with limited bandwidth or hardware capacity can benefit from this approach. It is especially valuable for securing distributed sites, outdoor environments, temporary setups, or locations that rely on 4G connectivity. Even in these scenarios, control rooms can benefit from smarter filtering without depending on a constant video stream.
More focus on what truly matters
This shifts the role of technology to where it adds the most value: not as a replacement for people, but as support for their work. In a control room, the core tasks remain assessing, prioritizing, and acting—activities that require human judgment and experience.
VAIBS Image Analytics helps operators use their attention more effectively. By filtering out irrelevant alerts in advance, operators can focus on real situations and more important tasks rather than handling false alarms. This is where the real value lies: less noise in the process and more room for quality in response.
Not just filtering, but also providing insights
In addition to filtering alerts, VAIBS Image Analytics also provides valuable insights. It shows how many triggers are generated, how many alerts are filtered out, and which cameras produce relatively high numbers of false alarms. These metrics are visualized in dashboards per camera or end customer. This not only provides transparency but also helps identify optimization opportunities and supports reporting or billing processes.
