VAIBS Image Analytics: the smart filter for the control room
SPIE Netherlands has expanded its service portfolio with Vaidio: the Video AI Analytics platform provided by Ermelo-based VAIBS. Through this new collaboration, both parties are able to offer the end customer a total solution in the field of smart video technology to optimise (security) processes. As of today, it is also possible to watch a live demonstration of the Vaidio platform at SPIE on location.
SPIE is a multi-technology service provider that designs, develops, installs and maintains energy-efficient and environmentally friendly installations of and for its clients. In doing so, the company strives to come up with innovative solutions that save energy and thus benefit the environment and reduce costs. SPIE employs some 7,000 people in the Netherlands.
Vaidio offers various functionalities to fully automate inspection and detection tasks. These include simplified searching through thousands of hours of imagery, as well as real-time detection of intrusions, people, vehicles, animals, objects, objects left behind, personal protective equipment, smoke and fire. Does an unwanted situation take place? Then the platform generates automatic alerts, enabling appropriate action. In addition, the platform helps convert valuable information from imagery into useful data for reporting, through automatic counting functions and/or detection of gender, age or emotion.
By adding Vaidio to its existing Security portfolio, SPIE aims to better support its end client within the primary process. Bart Verhees, Portfolio Manager ICT Services at SPIE: ‘At the moment, we provide network infrastructures from A to Z and install hardware and also provide management and maintenance on it. That way, you stay at a certain distance with the customer about their processes. By including Vaidio in our Security portfolio, our focus shifts a bit more towards a portfolio of services. This enables us to also help our customers set up their primary processes more efficiently.’
Yet there are several Video AI Analytics solutions present in the market. So why did SPIE choose Vaidio and VAIBS? Verhees: ‘We find it important that a product or organisation has a good track-record when we want to work with it. A certain continuity. With more than 12 years of practical experience, the Vaidio platform has that. Furthermore, Vaidio complies with NDAA guidelines, which nevertheless provides additional assurance that there are no “”back doors””. In addition, the Vaidio Cloud environment is located in the Netherlands, so the data does not go outside the Netherlands. The flexibility of VAIBS as a company is very nice. We can switch quickly when, for instance, an integration has to be made.
The collaboration between SPIE and VAIBS ultimately results in a total solution for the end customer. Verhees: ‘By joining forces, we offer our customers the best of both worlds: where VAIBS is the software specialist, we are the network infrastructure, hardware and services specialist. As a result, there are only specialists at the table.’
Kasper van Kekem, Commercial Director at VAIBS, concurs: ‘Spie Netherlands is obviously an appealing name in the market with wonderful clients. Spie Netherlands’ pragmatic approach and decisive action is very appealing to us. Through our cooperation, we offer effective solutions in the fields of safety, security and healthcare and support for various business processes. Together, you really do get a lot further!
