How Vision AI takes critical infrastructure security to the next level
VAIBS makes passive camera with AI proactive
Many camera systems in security and access control are passive. In other words, data is recorded and stored after which the images must be analyzed manually. VAIBS has ‘video artificial intelligence’ software that makes camera systems active. Kasper van Kekem from VAIBS explains this in this Computable Journaal.
‘With our software powered by artificial intelligence, we can make any common camera more intelligent and detect people, vehicles and objects in the camera range,’ says Kasper van Kekem of VAIBS in the following Computable Journal. ‘As a result, you can very easily scroll through hours of footage and, for example, get that one guy with the red cap to come forward in a matter of seconds.’Â
According to Van Kekem, such an active camera prevents a lot of manual inspection and is not only an attractive alternative for the security industry, but also for the manufacturing industry (quality control) and public spaces, among others (think of crowd control; counting people, inspecting if people are wearing a mouth mask or detecting fainting persons). Â
VAIBS is a new company, started in Ermelo, and distributes this ‘Vaido Video Artificial Intelligence’ platform in Europe. The system has already proven itself in the United States and the Middle East, says Van Kekem. Â
The company was one of the participants in the Future Lab assembled by Computable at the recently held new ICT trade show TBX in the annual exhibition Utrecht (The Netherlands).Â
