Alert finds new AI partner in VAIBS

Alert has found a new partner in VAIBS in the field of smart Video AI Analytic technology. Through this cooperation, Alert is taking the next innovative step in the development of its product portfolio. By joining forces, both companies aim to increase the quality of camera alerts. This should ultimately lead to more effective and efficient security processes.

VAIBS helps organisations turn video images into usable data. The Ermelo-based company does this by making every (existing) IP camera smart using Video Artificial Intelligence. To do this, VAIBS uses Vaidio: the Video AI Analytics platform to which tens of thousands of cameras worldwide are connected every day to detect objects, people, anomalies and patterns. And it does so with high speed and accuracy.

A ‘digital fence’ to ban uninvited guests

While the Vaidio platform itself offers more than 30 AI functions, Alert will mainly use video search and intrusion detection. With the latter, a virtual detection area is indicated in the camera image at places of security. If a person crosses this digital fence, Vaidio automatically sends a notification to the alarm centre. In doing so, dispatchers perform a brief visual check before directing surveillance. No more needless distress, but virtually fast on the spot.

Reducing the number of unwanted notifications

The basis of the cooperation between Alert and VAIBS stems from the desire to reduce the number of unwanted reports in Alert’s alarm centre. On the one hand to save the workload at the operators on the other hand not to unnecessarily drive up costs for the connected relations. Existing sensor technology can cause many unwanted alerts due to weather, animals and more. The Vaidio platform has been developed based on Deep Learning and Machine Learning. As a result, Vaidio is able to distinguish between, for example, a rubbish bag blowing by, an animal or actually a person. This greatly reduces the number of needless alerts.

Among other things, the Vaidio platform is fully integrated with the WinGuard platform and Genetec used by Alert. This means that the alerts generated by Vaidio are directly visible in and can be managed in WinGuard and/or Genetec.
